Aluminum profiles used in building curtain walls must balance energy efficiency and safety. Taking 6063-T6 aluminum alloy as an example, its thermal conductivity is only 50%-60% of that of copper. By designing thermal break structures (such as through-type or cast-in-place thermal break strips), the thermal conductivity can be further reduced to 1.8-3.5 W/(m·K), meeting energy-saving requirements.

 

In terms of safety, the profile wall thickness must be ≥1.4mm, and it must pass wind pressure resistance tests (e.g., deformation ≤L/180 at 900Pa wind pressure). For example, the curtain wall of the Shanghai Tower uses 6063-T6 aluminum profiles, combined with double-glazed LOW-E glass, reducing the overall heat transfer coefficient (K-value) to 1.2 W/(m²·K). Simultaneously, it withstands a category 12 typhoon with structural deformation of less than 2mm, achieving a dual guarantee of energy efficiency and safety.
